Dynamic Interpretations of Constraint-Based Grammar Formalisms

We present a rendering of some common grammatical formalisms in terms of evolving algebras. Though our main concern in this paper is on constraint-based formalisms, we also discuss the more basic case of context-free grammars. Our aim throughout is to highlight the use of evolving algebras as a speci cation tool to obtain grammar formalisms.

A Description of Legal Interpretations in Risk Management with the Use of Ontology Alignment Formalisms

The paper has two goals: firstly, we explain how ontology mapping formalisms can be used to denote the many interpretations of a given legal concept; secondly, we provide a short case, justifying the potential need of using such formalisms in modern legal knowledge models. This approach may be especially useful for coding knowledge about specific legal cases.

on semihypergroups and hypergroups

in this thesis, first the notion of weak mutual associativity (w.m.a.) and the necessary and sufficient condition for a $(l,gamma)$-associated hypersemigroup $(h, ast)$ derived from some family of $lesssim$-preordered semigroups to be a hypergroup, are given. second, by proving the fact that the concrete categories, semihypergroups and hypergroups have not free objects we will introduce t...

On bounded functional interpretations

A unified view over well-known interpretations of intuitionistic logic, such as Gödel’s dialectica interpretation [6], Diller-Nahm interpretation [1] and Kreisel’s modified realizability [7] was achieved through a parametrised interpretation in the intuitionistic logic context [8] but also, very elegantly, in the linear logic setting (see [10], [9] and [3]). In this talk we report on work in pr...

Extending uncertainty formalisms to linear constraints and other complex formalisms

Linear constraints occur naturally in many reasoning problems and the information that they represent is often uncertain. There is a difficulty in applying AI uncertainty formalisms to this situation, as their representation of the underlying logic, either as a mutually exclusive and exhaustive set of possibilities, or with a propositional or a predicate logic, is inappropriate (or at least unh...
